Questions, answers

What types of arts programs do you help develop?

I specialize in developing and refining visual and media arts programs, including design education, photography, animation, projection art, and cinema. My work ranges from enhancing existing curricula to building brand-new programs tailored to a school's unique needs and resources.

How do you customize your approach for different schools?

Every school has its own constraints and opportunities. I assess your school’s specific learning environment, available technology, teacher expertise, and scheduling structures to design programs that maximize student engagement and learning outcomes while aligning with institutional goals.

What makes your approach to curriculum development unique?

I integrate conceptual learning, authentic production cycles, and deep assessment practices that emphasize artistic habits of mind. My curriculum designs foster visual and media literacy, ensuring that students not only decode (analyze) but also encode (create) meaningful visual and media-based communication.

Can you provide professional development for our arts teachers?

Yes! I offer hands-on training and coaching for teachers, equipping them with the technical and artistic skills needed to confidently teach media arts. This includes software training (Adobe Creative Suite, Apple creative tools, Canva, and web-based platforms), workflow strategies, and best practices for guiding students through creative processes.

Do you offer online learning solutions?

Absolutely. I have developed the first online high school media arts program in the U.S. and the first elementary media arts program. Whether you need hybrid, fully online, or blended learning solutions, I can design effective digital learning experiences that support student engagement and creative growth.

How do you ensure meaningful assessment in arts education?

I help schools develop authentic assessment models that go beyond traditional grading to measure student growth in artistic processes, critical thinking, and multimodal communication fluencies. This includes formative and summative assessments that align with artistic and design thinking methodologies.

How do you support long-term program sustainability?

I work with schools to create frameworks that ensure long-term success, including curriculum mapping, professional learning plans, and strategies for adapting to evolving technology and artistic practices often over several years.

What’s the first step if we’re interested in working with you?

Reach out for an initial conversation! I’ll work with you to understand your goals, challenges, and opportunities, and together we’ll develop a roadmap for strengthening your arts programming.
